Treatment For Movie Trailer Production

Synopsis - An old tape that has been lost for generations, has been discovered by its next victim.

Narrative Outline -  A teenage girl is looking through a box and finds a old tape, later that evening she watches the tape. The screens comes up with fuzzy grey screen cut to phone ringing. she walks and answers the phone but there is no answer. There is silence before we hear a screeching noise and she hangs up. The screen goes black and she goes upstairs and when she enters her room we hear a scream and banging. The door opens and we see the ghost travelling around the room but it ends with image of ghost sat in middle of bed and gets closer to the ghost and ends with the ghost looking at the camera. The last thing on the screen is the fuzzy grey screen.

Victim - Gemma, older teenager who is home alone.

Location - House, first part is in the front room and the second is in her bedroom

Target audience - Aged 15 and over, male and female. Audience must enjoy classic horror films, and they mustn't be easily scared or put off. Can be in full/ part time education or could be in full/part time occupation.

Preliminary Narrative Ideas

A Female Uni student is home alone, the female student is on her laptop watching videos, she comes across a video clip and clicks on it, an abnormal and ghost like female appears on her screen for a few seconds then her laptop screen turns off. The student ignores what has happened and charges her laptop, a weird screen with a logo then pops up again and weird things starts to happen. The creaks of doors, footsteps, lights flashing on and off occurs during the night. The girl experiences paranormal activities throughout the night. Her home telephone rings in the morning, she answers the phone and there is no response, only heavy breathing can be heard.

Initial thoughts about the A2 Media Coursework

For the main project of the A2 Media Coursework, I have to produce 3 media products for a movie marketing campaign in 2 formats of moving images and printing. My initial thoughts of the project is that there will be a mass volume of work that needs to be done, this will mainly be on the Mac for editing moving images and printing. It is required to be very organised and a lot of planning is required to be able to produce a prosperous final product. For the project to be successful, the genre of the product needs to be chosen in the early stages of planning, this is so that it does not cause confusion and it will be a nice head start to the project. As there are 3 different products made, all 3 products needs to follow the same narrative, content and choice of genre. I think there will be a lot of trial and errors in the first stages of producing these products, and afterwards it will go smoothly.

There is a preliminary project, the preliminary project is to produce a one minute long narrative, it requires to include multiple of different shots and conventions. The preliminary project will be a benefit into helping me get used to the equipment and software's used. I will learn a lot in a short amount of time and a lot of practice is needed to be able to successfully carry out the project.
