After looking at existing film names specifically for the genre of romance, they all have similar designs, each and every one of them has a simple sophisticated design. As compared to thriller or action film title names, there isn't a lot going on. Most of the designs are either 2 words and they are placed either beside each other or above each other to make the title seem interesting. Another common design I have seen is using calligraphy sans serif fonts, this is because when you think of the genre of romance we think of intimacy and closure, which is why sans serif font is used to give an informal approach to relate back to the concept of romantic relationships.
Due to this I have decided to design my film names in a calligraphy font, using sans serif and lower case letters to interpret the main character writing the the text. This connects the audience and characters on a personal level. I chose my film name to consist of two words only, 'her smile' is short and snappy making it easy to remember and fitting to read. I also played around with the colours and the way each word is placed. The colours I used for the film name ideas are the common colours used for the genre of romance, which can be seen on existing films. This will allow the audience to instantly understand that it is a romance film. The ideas has given me a wide variety of options to choose from, this will then be developed and taken forward.
Below are existing film names in the genre of romance, they are film names which I have took inspiration from to help me produce multiple of film name ideas.
I have gained some audience feedback on which film name idea the audience likes the most, from the feedback below I can say that the second one is the most preferred design because the two words sits nicely on top of one another which is a different style to split text into two lines.
